A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT

You have between 3 and 5 years of experience as a mechanic officer? You have all the necessary qualifications?

Under the supervision of the project manager and tug master, you will be responsible for the operation and mechanical maintenance of an azimuth-propelled tugboat (Z-Drive).

You will be assigned to work in Quebec City.

RESPONSABILITIES YOU WILL BE ENTRUSTED WITH

  • Maintain the main engine and auxiliary equipment
  • Operate electrical, mechanical and hydraulic control systems as well as replenishment-at-sea equipment
  • Operate and maintain refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning equipment
  • Monitor the tasks of the preventive maintenance system
  • Ensure the implementation of the safety management system in his department
  • Monitor the functioning parameters of the main engine (pressure, temperature, levels) and report any irregularity
  • Other related tasks as requested by his supervisor

 

PROFILE SOUGHT

  • Hold a valid STCW 2nd class motor marine engineering mechanic certificate (minimum required)
  • Hold Certificates of Proficiency (CoP): MED Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats; STCW Basic Safety; Advanced Fire Fighting
  • Hold a valid Marine Medical certificate issued by Transport Canada
  • Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (CRO-M)
  • Have 3 to 5 years of experience as Engineer Officer
  • Good knowledge of diesel motor mechanics
  • Good physical condition
  • Available for long trips
