We are actively seeking a Head of Department – Dispatch to supervise the dispatch team, particularly by supporting the Supervisor – Dispatch in managing the team. The candidate will plan the personnel and the fleet to meet our operational needs.  He will also be responsible for operational efficiency and fleet management optimization.

YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

  • Ensure management and compliance of fleet practices.
  • Ensure the quality of operational service and monitor fleet compliance.
  • Supporting the Supervisor – Dispatcher in personnel and fleet planning.
  • Support the Operation Managers and build relationships with the company’s various business units.
  • Ensure team skills development.
  • Control costs associated with dispatch operations.
  • Ensure that the dispatch department’s efficiency is optimized.
  • Work with the DRI team to develop electronic forms, performance reports, performance tracking charts, etc.
  • Implement key performance indicators to ensure the achievement of goals and continuous improvement processes for the dispatch team.
  • Participate in and support Health, Safety and Environmental Management System activities.

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:

  • University degree in Administration or other relevant area
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in management and supervision
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry (an asset)
  • Computer skills: Word (advanced), Excel (advanced), PowerPoint (intermediate)
  • Ability to find innovative solutions
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Languages: advanced level in French and in English, spoken and written
