A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT

The shipbuilding and naval repair sector of Ocean Group is looking for welders-fitters to complement its teams for two (2) of its internal companies.

Reporting to the Foreman, the incumbent will perform various welding and fitting tasks as part of shipbuilding and naval repair projects. He will also carry out tasks related to the completion of projects in progress.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL BE ENTRUSTED WITH

  • Reading plans and interpreting required welding procedures
  • Working according to plans, and cutting and assembling materials
  • Performing welding based on FCAW and GMAW procedures
  • Performing various welding-related tasks or other tasks based on current project needs

 

PROFILE SOUGHT

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in welding-fitting or equivalent work experience
  • CWB certification or meet Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) requirements
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces or at a heights
  • Plan reading
  • Teamwork
  • Experience in the marine field (an asset)
  • Availability to travel for work
  • Work on day and night shifts
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s licence (for the Ocean naval and industrial repairs team)
  • Availability for on-call periods (for the Ocean naval and industrial repairs team)
  • Experience in the marine field (an asset)
