We are actively seeking a Senior Advisor – Health, Safety and Environment (SSE) to support the launch of occupational accident and illness prevention and environmental protection activities for Ocean Group’s business units.  The person will promote compliance with occupational health and safety laws and regulations, and collaborate with members of the HSE team and various stakeholders.  He will also support the implementation of safe HSE behaviors with colleagues on worksites and within various projects.

YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

  • Act as a technical mentor to the HSE team, by coaching HSE coordinators and advisors in the development of their skills;
  • Ensure a continuous field presence to support our colleagues at operational sites;
  • List all operating unit projects and encourage the integration of HSE into them;
  • Collaborate with the HSE team in the identification of hazards and the assessment of risks present on our work sites, as well as in the search for corrective or preventive measures;
  • Participate in the drafting of safe work procedures following risk analyses;
  • Participate in the validation of HSE training content;
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:

  • University degree in an HSE-related discipline (asset);
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in HSE;
  • ASP-Construction card;
  • Experience in the maritime field (asset);
  • Strong sense of customer service;
  • Good sense of priorities;
  • Influential leadership;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Languages: advanced level in French and in English, oral and written
