BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to  the Coordinator – Road Services and Special Projects, the incumbent will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and upkeep of fixed machinery, as well as lifting equipment and construction machinery used at Ocean Industries’ shipyard.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the smooth functioning of equipment and machinery identified;
  • Ensure the adjustment, repair and replacement of parts on defective equipment;
  • Test equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly and that repairs meet requirements;
  • Perform related maintenance work on equipment and machinery identified by the Coordinator;
  • Assist in major repairs as directed by the Foreman – Mechanics;
  • Carry out the verification and repair of the devices or machinery that will be inspected;
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma of Professional Studies in fixed machinery mechanics, heavy mechanics, diesel, construction machinery or agricultural equipment;
  • Minimum of three (3) years in this position (or similar role);
  • Availability to travel frequently to job sites;
  • Bilingualism in French and English, oral and written (asset).
