You get bored with routine work, hold a 4th class motor certificate and look for a job as Marine Engineer onboard a ship used on a variety of marine projects? This position might be for you!

We are seeking a Second Engineer who will work onboard a tug in eastern Canada as part of a variety of projects such as: barge or dredge mobilization, ship escort, oversized transportation, etc.


  • Ensuring proper functioning of on-board equipment during operations and trips
  • Performing the repair and maintenance of the engine room and on-board equipment
  • Taking part in maintenance and repair operations during dry docks
  • Performing specific maintenance routines for each machine or equipment according to procedures and requirements
  • Monitoring the functioning parameters of engines and reporting any malfunction
  • Maintaining the main engine and auxiliary devices
  • Ensuring that policies on safety and environmental protection are complied with



  • Hold a valid Canadian 4th class motor Marine Engineer certificate
  • Hold a valid MED certificate (including firefighting and rescue boats certificates)
  • Hold a valid medical certificate
  • Good knowledge of diesel mechanics
  • Hold a valid medical certificate issued by Transport Canada
  • Self-sufficiency and organizational skills
