A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT

Do you have a valid Canadian passport and the necessary training for a position as a Marine Engineer 3rd Class?

The Traverse Nord, our specialized dredging vessel, requires a dedicated mechanical officer who will ensure the vessel’s maintenance, mechanical maintenance and proper operation during a trip to the Caribbean.

RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL BE ENTRUSTED WITH

  • Ensure proper functioning of on-board equipment during dredge operations and trips
  • Perform repairs and maintenance of the engine room and on-board equipment
  • Take part in maintenance and repair operations during dry docks
  • Perform specific maintenance routines for each machine or equipment according to procedures and requirements
  • Monitor the functioning parameters of engines and report any malfunction
  • Ensure that policies on safety and environmental protection are followed

 

PROFILE SOUGHT

  • Hold a Canadian STCW-95 Third class motor (or a Fourth Class motor marine certificate with over 12 months of valid sea time)
  • MED, Firefighting and Safety  certificates
  • Valid seafarer’s medical
  • Good knowledge of diesel motor mechanics
  • Have a valid Canadian passport.
