A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT

The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and smooth operation of a tug based in Quebec City, which is used as part of various special projects conducted mainly on the St. Lawrence River, but also sometimes on the Great Lakes and in northern Quebec. Such projects include towing as well as barge and mechanical dredge escorting and transport.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL BE ENTRUSTED WITH

  • Ensuring the smooth operation of on-board equipment during operations and travel
  • Keeping the ship’s ISM code and certification up to date
  • Participating in the repair and maintenance of the engine room and equipment
  • Supervising special maintenance routines
  • Ensuring that health, safety and environmental policies are complied with

 

PROFILE SOUGHT

  • Hold a Canadian 3rd class motor engineering officer certificate
  • Good knowledge of diesel mechanics on hydraulic systems
  • Experience as chief engineer would be an asset for the position
  • Available and willing to travel
