Under the supervision of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the incumbent will receive, follow up and settle invoices for the Ocean Group’s various companies.



Follow-up on accounts payable

  • Verify the accuracy of invoices issued by suppliers with purchase orders
  • Code and enter invoices into the accounting system as soon as they are approved and attach all documents in SAP
  • Distribute supplier invoices to authorized individuals for approval
  • Issue weekly and monthly disbursements according to internal policies and departmental guidelines
  • Verify and follow up on statements of account received from suppliers
  • Return invoices received without purchase orders to the suppliers
  • Ensure good communication with the operations and purchasing staff and suppliers
  • Perform, upon request, the analysis of invoices or payments for specific suppliers and resolve any related problems
  • During certain periods, open supplier accounts and transmit electronic payments to the banking institution
  • Manage the payables email box in collaboration with the payables team
  • Perform accounting entries


Monthly closing

  • Provide the Payables Supervisor with the reasons for unpaid suppliers according to the payment terms
  • Inform the Payables Supervisor of all invoices not approved by the business units in order to make an allowance
  • Do the analysis of the accruals (Closing – Explanation with purchasing) and ages of the accounts payable
  • Accompany the Payables Supervisor in the closing of the month
  • Perform various tests during upgrades or improvements in the systems
  • Participate in all other tasks to support the accounting team



  • Hold a college diploma in accounting. Any combination of experience and training will be taken into consideration
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in a similar position
  • Have a functional level of English, both oral and written
  • Be proficiency in the Office Suite software; Have an excellent level of proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in multi-company and multi-currency accounting
  • Have a good work organization and be able to work under pressure
  • Be recognized for his professionalism, tact and discretion
  • Be a team player, versatile and autonomous
  • Be proactive, flexible and demonstrate a great ability to adapt
