Ocean's Services:
Safe Service - Experienced Personnel - Protection of the Environment

Ocean offers safe and effective refloating and wreck removal services throughout Quebec and Eastern Canada. As respect for safety and the environment are paramount in these delicate operations, Ocean provides experienced salvors working with qualified support personnel and sophisticated equipment. Ocean is a member of the prestigious International Salvage Union (ISU) based in London, UK and was also the first Canadian company admitted to the American Salvage Association (ASA), based in Arlington, Virginia.

In case of emergency, Ocean can mobilize rapidly a complete range of versatile, state-of-the-art support equipment from its many subsidiaries and divisions.

Towing ships in distress (short and long distance)
Ocean is fully equipped and qualified to rescue ships that have lost propulsion, rudder, or both, thus avoiding grounding or worse.

Refloating grounded ships
Our fleet of tugs combined with know-how from our salvage experts enables Ocean to refloat your grounded ship safely, without further damage.

Wreck removal
When within reach, a sunken ship, or any other type of vessel, must be removed to help avoid potentially toxic spills or to recuperate valuable or dangerous cargo. Ocean has the personnel and equipment necessary to handle these difficult tasks with the highest regard for safety and the environment.

Lightering service
A grounded ship can sometimes be refloated simply by removing a portion of its cargo. Ocean uses tugs, barges and cranes, under the direction of our lightering specialist, a renowned Salvage Master, to perform this service safely and effectively.

Underwater intervention team
Before any salvage operation can be attempted on a grounded or sunken ship, it is critical to know the type and extent of the damage it has sustained. Our underwater intervention team will dive to inspect the ship's hull and provide crucial information for determining whether the vessel's structural integrity is sufficient to proceed with the salvage operation.

Engineering and technical design services
Once the decision to proceed with the salvage operation has been made, we have to develop a strategy to ensure success. Our engineers and technical designers are responsible for conceiving and illustrating the actions necessary to achieve a successful refloating or wreck removal operation.

Firefighting services
Ships in distress, grounded ships or ships involved in an accident are sometimes transporting dangerous or flammable materials. Several Ocean tugs are equipped with sophisticated firefighting systems that can be rapidly mobilized in case of incident, accident or simply as a preventive measure.

Barges and lifting equipment
Ocean can provide a variety of lifting equipment, autonomous or fitted on barges, to the site of marine incidents or accidents. This equipment can be used to recuperate cargo or even sections of damaged ships. Our fleet of over 200 barges ensures rapid response.

Welding, machining and ship repair services
Our welding, machining and ship repair services will quickly put your ship back in service after an incident or accident, or following a grounding.
