Ocean talks about dredging in Caribbean Maritime Magazine

Québec, May 31, 2018: interview in Caribbean Maritime Magazine with Steve Côté, Director – International Business Development – Marine Works and Dredging for Ocean, talks about maintenance dredging and its importance to ports.

Everyone in the shipping business is aware of the benefits that can be derived from an economy of scale. But there are exceptions to this general rule, and one of these would seem to be the dredging business.

According to Steve Côté: “ There are some popular myths in relation to the cost of maintenance dredging and how often it needs to be done (…) Many ports have the impression they have to wait until they have a lot of material quantities before launching a dredging project (…) and the cost of waiting may outweigh the cost of dredging. ”
