Reporting to the Director of Estimation, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the latter in the estimation of the costs and prices related to shipbuilding and naval repair activities.

  

Responsible for client and partner relationships (internal, external)

  • Communicate with client representatives to identify their needs and provide accurate and adequate cost estimation;
  • Negotiate with client representatives in order to reach contract signature;
  • Validate client needs by checking with them all details required to fully understand these needs;
  • Submit technical requirements, needs and other necessary information to the key players involved in the project;
  • Get detailed quotations from the other divisions of company, subcontractors and suppliers in cooperation with the purchase department;
  • Build and maintain business relationships with existing and potential clients;
  • Establish initial client contact through to contract signature and assignment.

                                                                                                                                                                       

Responsible for preparing estimates and quotes

  • Gather information from clients regarding projects to be bid on and get technical specifications when required;
  • Present service proposals to the Director of Estimation for closure and submit offers to clients;
  • Estimate project costs as accurately as possible;
  • Establish and keep up to date the actual costs of standard activities (unit rates);
  • Provide support to project managers in the establishment of operating budgets;
  • Identify, gather and complete the various documents required to participate in tenders;
  • Plan and facilitate bid closing and present service proposals to the Director of Estimation before submitting them to clients.

 

Responsible for planning work and resources

  • Plan the stages of the work and establish methods to determine the estimated cost of work in collaboration with operations;
  • Confirm the availability of human and material resources.

 

Responsible for cooperating in business and market development

  • Search for potential projects;
  • Support the Director of Estimation in monitoring the various databases in the market and order tender documents;
  • Build and maintain business relationships with existing and potential clients;
  • Draft preliminary contracts;
  • Get internal contract signatures and client signatures.

 

Requirements: 

  • Hold a college degree in naval architecture;
  • Have at least five (5) years of relevant experience in relation to the position;
  • Have a functional level of English;
  • Strong ability to establish priorities;
  • Perceptive, thorough and organized;
  • High degree of autonomy;
  • Ability for teamwork;
  • Great mobilizer and skilled communicator;
  • Demonstrates diplomacy, tact and professional rigor.
