With its hundreds of barges, tugs, workboats and other support material, Ocean offers its clients one of the largest fleet of marine equipment in Eastern Canada.

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to perform various maneuvers and movements on a small tug or workboat on the Champlain Bridge project site. Depending on projects, the job holder may be required to work elsewhere.


  • Carry out maneuvers, escorting and towing with small tugs or workboats
  • Commute between various locations of the site
  • Check that the ship's equipment functions properly
  • See to the smooth running of operations
  • See to the ship's stability in all conditions
  • Observe all relevant regulations concerning ship operation
  • Ensure the implementation of safety and environmental protection policies


  • Hold a Canadian Master Certificate – Vessels of 60 gross tonnage or more
  • At least 1 year of navigating experience as Captain
  • Work experience with with small tonnage vessels (small tugs or workboats)
  • Experience in maneuvers with barges or other similar equipment is an asset
  • Holding a health and safety on construction sites card (ASP Construction) would be an asset for the position
  • Available and willing to travel when required
  • Good knowledge of English (an asset)
