Fire in an industrial building of the Port of Quebec, two tugs called to the rescue of the firefighters
Friday, November 25, 2011, our tugs are deployed to help the firefighters working to extinguish a fire in a warehouse in the Port of Quebec at the Anse-au-Foulon section.
Because of the dangerousness of the situation, but especially the large size of the warehouse (about 800 by 150 feet), the firefighters rang 4 alarms successively and then a 33 call at 6:32 P.M.
The Ocean Ross Gaudreault, equipped with FIFI 1 fire combat systems, arrives to reinforce Quebec City's firefighting service. A few minutes later, a second tug is called; Ocean Bertrand Jeansonne joins the first tug. The two ships are pumping water directly from the St-Lawrence River and project it at over 2,400 m3/h. They made a big part of the work in extinguishing the flames on the front of the warehouse located on the side of the river.
