Québec, May 22, 2013 - The cruise ship M / V Louis Jolliet hit the bottom of the river at low tide in the afternoon and then ran aground near the island of Orleans due to pilot error. In total, 57 people were on board, including crew and passengers.
Océan Remorquage was called to the scene to evacuate the passengers and bring them ashore. Two pilot boats were in charge of evacuating them with the use of the ship’s rope ladders. Pilot boats then transferred passengers on the deck of the tug OCEAN BERTRAND JEANSONNE that brought everyone ashore safely at the end of the afternoon.
