Oil tanker docking at the Ultramar refinery
Ocean helps dock a tanker carrying a million barrels of crude petroleum
Québec, September 28, 2012 – Ocean’s tugboats help to dock an oil tanker at the Ultramar refinery in Saint-Romuald. The huge ship, weighing approximately 185,000 tons and carrying nearly a million barrels of crude oil, travels at a speed of about four knots. The first tug is tied up at the rear of the oil tanker to keep the ship in safe waters in case of a mechanical problem. Two other towboats are tied up on each side of the ship to push or pull it during docking.
