Inspection, repair and certification of unloading cranes at the Ultramar Refinery wharf.

The two unloading cranes for the ships calling at the Ultramar refinery had to be dismantled, inspected and repaired. These cranes were not accessible by land, so Ocean dismantled them using a 220-ton crane installed on a barge. Once dismantled, the two cranes were brought to Ocean's workshop located in the Port of Québec, where they were inspected, repaired and repainted according to the requirements of the Ultramar refinery management and the applicable standards. Once the work was completed, the cranes were taken back to the refinery's wharf, where they were reassembled and reinstalled in their correct position. This project required great precision as we had to dismantle and reassemble the 75' long by 40' wide, 10,000 lbs. cranes without damaging them and without any contact with the oil-unloading piping nearby. Finally, we proceeded with the certification of the site.
