Floating Wharf for Pangniurtung

In July 2009, Fisheries and Oceans Canada granted Ocean the contract to build a floating wharf for the fishing community of Pangniurtung, Nunavut. This community had no existing infrastructures for the commercial fishing and hunting boats, and urgently needed a wharf for their marina.

Since shipment of the parts that would make up the wharf was scheduled for September, time was of the essence, and Ocean's personnel worked around the clock to build the barges that would make up the floating wharf.

All units were shipped onboard one of NEAS' vessels and were delivered before the end of the shipping season in Canada's North.
